Bach Easter Oratorio

Melbourne Bach Chamber Choir makes its Melbourne Recital Centre debut with a program of much-loved works by J.S. Bach, Mozart and Mendelssohn.

Rick Prakhoff conducts and Madeleine Easton, Director of Bach Akademie Australia, leads the orchestra. Bach’s uplifting Easter Oratorio and his best known Orchestral Suite, No.3, are complemented by Mendelssohn’s Jesu meine Freude, a short chorale cantata strongly influenced by Bach. Mozart’s Solemn Vespers, including the sublime Laudate Dominum, completes the programme.

The four outstanding soloists will be Lorina Gore, soprano, Sally-Anne Russell, mezzo-soprano, Michael Smallwood, tenor and Christopher Tonkin, baritone.
